God are you hearing me?

Several years back, I read a story about this woman who was going through a difficult season in her life.  As I read this story I could feel her pain and suffering of trying to deal with this situation.  She spoke how she prayed continuously, but to no avail. She felt her prayers were not being heard. No matter how much she prayed, her question was the same, “God are you hearing me?”

One morning she was outside, praying and searching for any form of encouragement from God.  It was at this point she heard a bird’s loud cry.  She looked up and saw this small bird chasing and chattering at a bird three times its size.  Again and again this small bird circled a tree, darting at the much larger bird. This small bird  continually chattered as it protected this tree.  She could only guess the small bird’s babies were nesting in this tree.  She was so fascinated by the relentless bravery of this small bird and how it  never gave up.  The large bird eventually grew tired and flew away.  The small bird flew to the tree, back to her babies.  As she looked at the tree, she had a most profound thought.  She was just like this bird, continually crying out. Just as the bird’s enemy grew tired so was her enemy growing tired. She smiled and started praying with a new-found energy, realizing, God does hear all her prayers.

When you are going through a difficult time, remember God’s timing is perfection.  He hears all your prayers.  Never stop praying, your answer is right above you.

1 John 5:14-15      And this is the confidence we have toward Him, that if we ask anything according to His will He hears us.  And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the request that we have asked of Him.
