If we as Christians tolerate sin, we are helping our brothers and sisters into an eternity of torment. Let your conviction be known. You don’t have to throw rocks, but it is okay to say “I don’t agree with that (fill in the blank sin) and then say why you don’t”.
We are called to make a difference in our communities. Jesus said in Matthew 5:13-16 “You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men. You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.”
Be an example. Choose to skip that R rated movie and be bold about it. Be the one to walk away during the gossip session at work. Stand up for traditional marriage.
You aren’t called to hate the sinner, but you are called to love them. You are called to do the right thing, even when the right thing turns the world against you.
The world may scowl and make fun, but the peace you will find in your Savior is worth oh so much more. I long to hear the words from my Lord one day “Well done good and faithful servant.”
Let your deeds count for eternity. God is watching and so is your lost sister.
