Joy Stolen?

You would never invite a thief into your home. So, why would you allow thoughts that steal your joy to make themselves at home in your mind?

5 things that steal Joy

Complaining: No one ever feels better after complaining, because it drains you of positive energy and fills you up on the negative.  Proverbs tells us that by the fruit of our lips the stomach is filled. You are what you speak.

Procrastination: Don’t put something off that you can do today. Even if you aren’t able to complete the task, the smallest progressive step in that direction will keep you from falling into that trap.

Gossip: Manufacturing gossip or words that tear down the reputation of others will never add any joy to your life.  On the other hand, when you use your words to build up the lives of others you bring joy to you and them as well.

Approval Seeking: Being liked by everyone is overrated. It’s much better to have God’s approval and love others from a genuine place, instead of being needy.

Not Keeping your Word: Don’t make promises you can’t keep.  It’s much better to say nothing at all then to say that you are going to do something and then not do it.  Keep your joy by being careful with your commitments.

Romans 12:2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.
